Dead dog dip

I can't believe it, got up early, arrived before dawn, scoured the reservoir and still left empty-handed. Not so much as a sniff. Checked the GOS sightings page at lunchtime and there it was, in black and white - dead dog seen bobbing about in the northern end, aaaargh! That is two dips in three days at Llareggub, JT-FC! I imagine this is how it looked...

The only saving grace was having PJ Harvey's most recent offering massaging the ear-lobes on the way thither and hither. The title track is b-e-a-utiful, right up there, with Grandaddy's "He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's the Pilot", vying for the coveted title of 'The best indie folk-laden rock tune in the world EVER!'

PS. Fudge Duck? What Fudge Duck?

Surely not a patch on Iron & Wine's 'The Trapeze Swinger'?
Also, no matter how fine Polly Jean's recent offerings may / may not be, I'm still maintaining a boycott due to her publically stated support for hunting the odd fox....

Hmmm, will seek out 'The Trapeze Swinger'; I have nothing against Iron and Wine though (apart from the apparent lack of UK dates in their European tour) and there are points on offer too ('Lovesongs of the Buzzard'). Mind you, this whole folk revival thing is a dangerous game to play: one minute it's Herman Dune and Tunng, then Iron and Wine, Vetiver, etc., then perhaps Espers; then your are on a very slippery slope via Bert Jansch straight into the jaws of a Pentangle/Fairport Convention pincer movement before being spewed out into a pit at the bottom of which Maddy Prior is playing cards with Alison Gross. Beware! It is but a 'Light Flight' to your mother's music collection, a living hell of perpetual finger jammed in ear.

PS. My only current (non-Geoffrey) boycott is of Beck, the bloody idiot is a scientologist.
