And now for something completely different

One of the above is an intelligent, well-travelled, award winning author and co-creator of one of the 20th century's greatest satires. He also has a degree in modern history from Oxford and would probably accept the earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old. The other opposes both abortion and teaching sex education but supports capital punishment, teaching creationism and the right to carry handguns. She also promotes oil and gas extraction in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, opposes listing polar bears as an endangered species (due to the fact it would adversely affect energy development) but does support aerial hunting of wolves. Finally, she chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from 2003 to 2004 and believes the world is approximately 6,000 years old.

How could siblings come to be so different?

dam and blast typo re "holly" clearly should read "holy". How to ruin an already weak pun in one easy L.

While we're at it, might I be permitted to suggest 'damn and blast' as a mild expletive when noticing typos, as opposed to 'dam and blast', which is a mild expletive uttered by members of 617 Squadron during Operation Chastise.

PS. As long as we're talking about satires emanating from the flickering box in the corner of the sitting room, I'd plump for Python or M*A*S*H.

Palin update: After years of questioning the scientific consensus, on Thursday 11th September 2008 the vice-presidential nominee finally accepted that human activity contributes to climate change. See www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008/sep/12/climatechange.uselections2008?gusrc=rss&feed=networkfront for more. Now, I wonder what triggered that epiphany?
